“On the first day of Christmas, my true love sent to me…” Well, in the context of the song regarding romantic love, these lyrics may not apply to singles. However, for the solo single, they are their true loves and can send themselves gifts or create solo memories that can be cherished for years to come. So, if you’re celebrating this Christmas holiday without a romantic partner, take some time to curate a list of things to send yourself in a twelve days of singleness holiday made especially for you.

1. Bake or learn to bake a new batch of goodies.

1. Bake or learn to bake a new batch of goodies.

Baking is one of the most soothing and satisfying activities one can engage in. It can serve as a stress reliever and mood booster, and provides a space as a creative outlet. So, for the first day of the 12 days of singleness, take some time to research or reinvent a few sweet treat recipes for your consumption or to give away and make someone else’s day a little sweeter.

2. Send cards of kindness to others and yourself to lift their spirits.

2. Send cards of kindness to others and yourself to lift their spirits.

For your second day of holiday singleness, take some time to send greeting cards with notes of kindness to make their day brighter. Receiving a card with a heartfelt message can let them know that they are not forgotten. Cards offer a personal touch in a digital world where things can often feel impersonal, creating lasting memories. So singles, take some time out of your holiday to make a meaningful connection with someone; send a card of kindness that will warm someone’s heart.

3. Send yourself a journal that you will use throughout the upcoming year.

3. Send yourself a journal that you will use throughout the upcoming year.

Go to one of your favorite bookstores (in person or online) and select a journal for your single journey. Select a different kind of journal beyond what you would typically select for yourself. You should also buy special pens for your journaling journey. When you’ve made your selection, package it up and mail it to yourself on your third day of holiday singleness. When it arrives, you can wait to open it on Christmas Day or New Year’s Eve to continue your 12 Days of Christmas or to begin your New Year of journaling through your single journey.

4. Create a calendar filled with plans for each month.

4. Create a calendar filled with plans for each month.

As the year slowly comes to an end, take some time to plan your next year of faith-filled adventures. You can create weekly, daily, or bi-weekly plans to fill your year with joy and expectations that will challenge and stretch you on this single journey. You can plan small to large things that bring you the joy you deserve every day. Whether it’s with a group or on your own, whatever you decide to do, make sure you plan prayerfully and carefully, filling your calendar with activities that take you out of your comfort zone.

On your fifth day of Christmas, purchase something you’ve longed for and have it mailed to you. It can be anything your heart desires that is within or beyond your holiday budget. Tis’ the season of gift giving, so why not take some time to give yourself a gift you’ve wanted and definitely deserve.

6. Have a solo pajama photo shoot and send the pictures to yourself in the mail.

During this time of year, couples and families take and post pictures of themselves cozied up in pajamas. For the sixth day of your single holiday, go out and purchase a pair of Christmas pajamas or dig up a pair you already have, and take a solo picture. When the shoot is complete, select your favorite shots, print them out, or create digital photos and send them to yourself and others as Christmas cards. These pics will brighten your day and someone else's.

7. Send yourself a small jar of mustard seeds accompanied by encouraging messages of faith.

7. Send yourself a small jar of mustard seeds accompanied by encouraging messages of faith.

The Word of God teaches us that in order to make mountains move, all we need is faith the size of a mustard seed. For the seventh day of your single holiday, set aside some time to gather 12 small envelopes, index cards, one large envelope, and a few mustard seeds. Write messages of faith on seven of the cards. Place the cards, along with one mustard seed, in an envelope addressed to you and mail them off. When your package arrives, open one envelope once a month to encourage yourself in your single walk of faith. You can also send messages of faith, like mustard seeds, to other singles in need to encourage them on their journey as well.

8. Send yourself a pack of fun stickers.

8. Send yourself a pack of fun stickers.

Sometimes the smallest acts of joy make the biggest impact. Sending yourself a pack of fun stickers is more than a fun and simple idea; it’s a reminder that you are allowed to delight in the simple things. Choose stickers that reflect your personality, your humor, your faith, or your inner child. Put them on your journal, laptop, water bottle, or anywhere you need a burst of color or encouragement. Let your stickers be a reminder that celebration doesn’t require a plus-one.

9. Send yourself a book you need to read for your single journey.

9. Send yourself a book you need to read for your single journey.

One of the most empowering gifts you can give yourself is a book that speaks directly to your season. Choose something that nourishes your growth, strengthens your faith, challenges old narratives, or simply reminds you that you are not navigating singleness alone. When the package arrives, let it serve as a gentle affirmation and reminder that you are worth investing in. Set a specific time during the week to curl up with it, highlight the parts that resonate with your single journey, and allow its wisdom to shape your perspective. Your single journey deserves guidance, inspiration, and encouragement, and giving yourself a meaningful book is a beautiful way to honor where you are and where you’re going.

10. Send yourself a custom gift basket. You can curate the items yourself or have one designed specifically for you.

10. Send yourself a custom gift basket. You can curate the items yourself or have one designed specifically for you.

Creating a custom gift basket for yourself is a powerful act of self-kindness. Curate items that bring comfort, joy, and inspiration—your favorite snacks, a cozy candle, a journal, a devotional, skincare treats, or a small item that feels luxurious. Or take it a step further and have one designed especially for you, tailored to your personality and needs. This isn’t about splurging, it’s about acknowledging that you deserve thoughtful care, too. When the basket arrives, receive it with the same excitement you’d show for a gift from someone else. Your single journey is worth celebrating. Let each item remind you that you can create joy, beauty, and comfort for yourself.

11. Send yourself a box of your favorite candy.

11. Send yourself a box of your favorite candy.

Sending yourself a box isn’t childish or frivolous; it’s a sweet reminder that joy doesn’t always have to be serious or expensive. Pick the candy that instantly makes you smile, the one that reminds you of childhood, comfort, or just a moment you can savor. When it arrives, don’t rush through it. Enjoy it slowly. Let it be a small celebration of yourself, your growth, and your journey. Being single doesn’t mean waiting for someone else to bring sweetness into your life. Sometimes you get to be the one who delivers it.

12. Send yourself a bundle of affirmation stickers.

12. Send yourself a bundle of affirmation stickers.

Affirmation stickers are small, powerful reminders that speak life into your day, and sending a bundle to yourself is a meaningful way to invest in your emotional and spiritual well-being. Choose affirmations that remind you of your worth, your identity in Christ, your resilience, and the beauty of this single season. Place them where you’ll see them often: on your journal, mirror, laptop, or water bottle. Each sticker becomes a quiet voice saying, “Keep going. You’re growing. You’re enough.” This simple gift encourages you to rewrite the narratives you’ve outgrown and surround yourself with truth because on this journey, you deserve constant reminders of who you are and who you’re becoming.

As you come to the end of the 12 Days of Singleness, I hope you feel both seen and strengthened in your journey. These daily practices were never about filling time or distracting you from your desire for partnership; they were about reminding you that your life, right now, is rich, meaningful, and worthy of celebration.

Singleness is not an “in-between” season. It is a multifaceted time of life filled with purpose where God uses it to shape your identity, deepen your faith, refine your purpose, and expand your joy. Every intentional act, from sending yourself small gifts to investing in your growth, reaffirms a truth often overlooked: you are allowed to care for yourself, honor yourself, and nurture your own flourishing.

These twelve days are an invitation to shift the narrative for yourself. To stop waiting to be chosen and start choosing yourself. To release comparison and embrace contentment. To recognize that God is present in this season, not merely preparing you for the next.

As you move forward, may you carry the confidence that your life is fully yours to live. May you remain open to love yet grounded in purpose. And may you continue cultivating joy, wholeness, and faith one intentional day at a time.
