TONIGHT'S SCRIPTURE

“He remembers that we are dust." - Psalm 103:14

SOMETHING TO PONDER

In the beginning, God created. He didn’t stop at creating stars, animals, fish, or plants, but God created Mankind, and not only created Mankind but did so in His own image and likeness. Man was created to do specific things: worship God, and rule and subdue the earth. Seemingly simple tasks, but when sin came on the scene, life got harder. The toiling was harder, subduing was harder.

Today, we believers know our job is to make disciples and to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth, but sometimes the Lord asks things of us that take a minute to get our heads around. It takes a minute for us to be brave enough to do. Friend, while I know God wants our obedience and our yes. I also know the Lord is kind and gentle towards us. He is slow to anger and rich in His love.

David writes this Psalm in his older years, looking back on hindsight. He was looking back and announcing that the Lord had been gracious, compassionate, and kind. He was announcing that God had not always treated him as he deserved, but rather had shown him great love, even in moments when it was not deserved.

David said that God is patient and compassionate with us because He knows where we come from. That we are nothing more than dust. So, whatever you are battling, know God will walk with you at your pace to sustain you in whatever He has called you to. The Lord knows you intricately, and He is always fighting for you and with you. Look back today and choose to see where the Lord has been compassionate toward you, and remind yourself that you are the Lord's and that He loves you!

YOUR NIGHTLY PRAYER

Dear Jesus,
Thank you for understanding my human limitations. Thank you for being gentle with me and allowing me time to process all that you want for me. You are a wonderful, creative, and loving Savior, and I would be at a loss without you! Remind me, Lord, when I am frail that you are my strength. Help me to walk in your will and your ways! In Jesus' name,
Amen.

THREE THINGS TO MEDITATE UPON

1. We are human and made from dust, but within us is the Holy Spirit who guides us, leads us, and encourages us to be brave.

2. Our God is a bold and almighty God, but He is more aware of our frailties and our limitations than even we are because He created us. We are created in His holy image, but we are human. God knows this, and He treats us accordingly.

3. While we all know our frailties, I would like to walk as boldly with the Lord as I can. To do that, I need to walk in His covering. Friend, walking with Jesus allows us to be bold for Him wherever we go.
