Magic Moments
Your Nightly Prayer for Mar. 7, 2025

TONGHT’S SCRIPTURE

Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” – Ephesians 3:20 NLT

SOMETHING TO PONDER

Our family had the most wonderful Christmas holiday this year, and when we arrived back home, we were all a little sad about it. We had saved and planned for years to make this bucket-list trip happen, and it was everything, and more we had saved and planned for. I love it when that happens. God enjoys blessing us beyond what we can save or plan for sometimes, and I love that about Him.

Today’s verse reminds us of this truth. “Infinitely more than we might ask or think.” Some things we plan and save for. Others we don’t even know to dream of or wish for. The magic of those moments gives breath to our lives. My father-in-law told my oldest daughter before he passed, “Life is hard, but life is good.” He was talking about her Type 1 Diabetes and passing wise encouragement down to her. We have all learned, through that journey, to embrace that truth fiercely. But not because my father-in-law said it. It lines up with God’s truth.

Life is hard, but it is good. When God created life, He said in check-list fashion, “It is good.” Sin in the world stinks. It’s not God’s original design, but it certainly didn’t catch Him off guard. His plan from the beginning was redemption through Christ Jesus. He still sees us as “good” because of Jesus’ sacrifice on our behalf. The Bible is full of magical moments. What I love so much about walking with Jesus is the way the Word weaves into and through the moments of our lives. We don’t have to save and plan for a bucket-list trip to experience the intense love and grace of God in our lives. Even when we do, He finds a way to make His presence known.

YOUR NIGHTLY PRAYER

Father,
The magical moments we seek in this life are fleeting if they don’t have Your truth woven through them. Let Your Truth add ‘magic’ to our lives, God. Not make-believe or actual magic, but miracles. Let us feel Your presence in our lives and embrace the plans You have for us, God. Remind us of the mighty power at work within us.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen.

THREE THINGS TO PONDER UPON

1. What’s on your bucket list? Talk to God about it! Drift off to your dreams …and ask Him to tag along. I believe God puts a dream in our hearts for a reason, even if they don’t end up looking like they did in our imagination.

2. Can you recall the miraculous feeling of the presence of God? Magical moments when He felt just a little closer than usual, even though we know He is always with us.

3. Life is hard, but life is good. Spend some time in prayer going over a few things that are hard in your life right now, and allow God to remind you that life is still good. When we seek Him wholeheartedly, Scripture reminds us we will find Him. Make sure you’re listening.
