When The Boy Light Up

"Breaking" by James Kibby

Here are the lyrics:

Your Midas touch
Turns my heart to gold
Your words like wine
Inebriate my soul
I'm holding you as you're holding me

Stay just for a while
The ocean is waiting to take you away
Stay and give that smile
Cause something inside me is breaking

Beyond the shore
I hear songs of peace
Above the clouds
I hear angels sing
They're calling you from eternity

Who would have thought I'd be the first to shed a tear?
But it's all I have the moment you are gone

"New Design" by James Kibby

Here are the lyrics:

Traviling this road for many days
This season's been the loneliest in my life
All the towns I've passed along the way
Are forgotten and the faces fade to emptiness

Let grace fall down
And let your love lift me up

If you see me walking down that narrow line
Pray that one day I will find
Oh I will find my new design

Through desert plain mountain range or valley
I've seen the oceans far and wide, laid by the river side
Breathing in these beautiful surroundings
Only makes me miss my home, I miss my home

"Handcuffs and a Narrow Hallway" by James Kibby

Here are the lyrics.

Handcuffs and a narrow hallway
Piece together the past
Hope something there will bail you out
Mouth is dry, you feel like
Someone squeezed you like a sponge
With nothing to say you walk alone

As the hallway gets longer
And the walls feel their closing in

About to get what you had always coming
Consequence you try hard to avoid
Was it worth it all to have your fun?
Was it worth it all now your time has come?

Hear your name just like a hammer
Breaks the glass of your thoughts
No mercy's in the bailiff's voice
Other faces watching
Cannot see beyond your skin
With nothing to say you stand alone

As the ceiling grows higher
And defenses start wearing thin

I know it's easier in our youth
To feel we're invincible, invincible
It's not until these cold iron bars
That we start to see how frail we are

About to get what you had always coming
But what if someone took that place for you?
Would you honor him 'cause you are free?
Would you be the same?

5 Preludes Prelude 4 (slow version)

These 5 preludes were written when I was in a particularly improvisatory mood and was really into Scriabin. So they have some things in common with each other and with Scriabin's music. This is actually the original version. I thought it would also sound good fast and with a somewhat different interpretation so the fast one is now the official 4th Prelude.

Little Canon

This is a short canon with an augmentation in one part. Though it fits the flute and soprano recorder ranges, it might sound best on alto recorders.
