Young Woman Stuns With ‘His Eye is on The Sparrow’ and Earns 4-Chair Turn

Check out this incredible audition from the archives of The Voice Australia! A shy 19-year-old singer wowed the judges when she sang ‘His Eye is on the Sparrow’ and earned chair turns from all four of the judges! The judges back in 2018 on season 7 were Joe Jonas, Delta Goodrem, Kelly Rowland, and Boy George—and those MegaWatt stars saw serious star power in Somer Smith of Melbourne, Victoria!

After a very brief clip of what’s to come, we meet Somer just before she appears in front of the judges. She is humble and just hopes to “turn a chair,” but she’s not entirely certain she will. Somer says that she’s taking a “leap of faith,” because she’s never taken singing much further than performing in front of her family.

Somer makes her way to the stage and takes a few moments before beginning her audition.  She gets situated, closes her eyes, breathes, and looks to her right at her accompaniment before singing her first note. The judges, while they can’t see her, know what is taking place. They’ve been there.

When Miss Somer opens her mouth, though… Wow! She is only 16 seconds into the song as she beautifully lands the word “come.” It’s the last one of line two of this inspiring hymn written by Civilla D. Martin in 1905 and famously sung by Ethel Waters when she gave her testimony at Billy Graham Crusades. Delta turns her chair first, followed immediately by Boy George and Kelly. Joe takes another ten seconds or so, and he’s facing the incredible singer with the others.

At 1:47, Somer becomes almost overwhelmed by the excitement of seeing all four judges looking her way, but she regains focus and demonstrates incredible feeling and emotion as she delivers a wonderfully soulful rendition of the song she’s chosen. And, she has chosen well indeed!

Somer’s family watches her stun and stir the judges and audience, no doubt with a lot of help from the one whom she sings about! Dad’s face is wet with tears of joy, and, when she finishes and gets a standing ovation from all four, her family laughs, jumps, pumps their fists, and hollers out loud. Somer has a lot of fans!

Once she is finished, Somer listens to impassioned pitches from each of the judges. Each explains why they think she should choose them. When she’s asked why she sings, she shares that she does it because she sings to something higher than herself. She feels called. The judges seem to agree; they see a star in the making.

Ultimately, Somer decides to go with Team Kelly. Kelly, who was the last judge to argue her case, made comments that resonated with Somer. Kelly told Somer that she’d take her all the way. Somer did not go all the way and was eliminated in the battle rounds during her season, but her voice will be touching people for years to come, just like it did back in 2018!

Rebecca St. James Cubbie Fink Talk New Book 'Lasting Ever'

In 'Lasting Ever: Faith, Music, Family, and Being Found by True Love,' Rebecca St. James and Cubbie Fink explore what it means to pursue a love that lasts—both in marriage and in faith. They reflect on their own story, believing God brought them together, and encourage readers to hold on through life’s challenges. More than a fairytale, Lasting Ever is about choosing enduring love rooted in grace, commitment, and connection with God.

The Detty Sisters Shine in Heartfelt ‘Do You Know How It Feels’

The Detty Sisters shine in their heartfelt ‘Do You Know How It Feels’ cover. If you’ve never heard any of the McKameys’ sweet songs about Jesus, you should listen to this one.

Originally sung by The McKameys singing group in 1992, The Detty Sisters’ cover transforms the song in the sweetest of ways. Each of the four sisters’ voices is unique, with different pitches, as the oldest is a teenager and the youngest is around six years old. They sing it with less country twang than the McKameys and in a different style, but the result is nonetheless breathtaking.

There’s nothing like a good ‘ole gospel song to bring people together. It’s wonderful to see such young girls singing happily with one another in harmony. They picked a great song to sing, too. “Do You Know How it Feels” is one of those rare, deeply insightful songs that really makes you think about the lyrics:

‘Then how does it feel to know
your a child of the King?
Your Heavenly Father owns everything,
How does it feel to know you are loved?’

The song is all about the relationship a believer has with God and how remarkable it is that Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins. It takes listeners through all of the emotions those of us who are saved have had: the sadness at his death, the knowledge that he’s the maker of the universe, the reassurance that he’s got us in his hands, and more.

While you listen to this song, you might ask yourself, “Do I know how it feels?” I hope so, and if you don’t, I encourage you to seek God and read Romans 3:23, 6:23, 5:8, 10:9-10, and 10:13. Jesus takes the weight of our sins away. Following him is worth the sacrifice.

“Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” 1-John 3 :16

Phil Wickham and Michael W. Smith Unite for Powerful ‘What an Awesome God’ Performance

Check out this powerful performance of Phil Wickham and Michael W. Smith uniting to sing ‘What an Awesome God’ together. The lyrics will move you, and the music will stir something in your soul. This is one collaboration that will leave you feeling encouraged!

‘God is great, give Him all the praise
Hallelujah, Name above all Names
Fire in His eyes, healing in His veins
Everywhere His glory on display’

What an amazing song! If it sounds familiar, it is because Phil Wickham's ‘What An Awesome God’ is a modern rendition of Rich Mullins' classic song ‘Awesome God.’ It was reimagined with a new musical arrangement and updated lyrics while retaining the original's core message.

Many people online shared that they really appreciated this new rendition of this classic worship song.

“Absolutely loved Rich Mullin's and love this adaptation of his music. Very nice!” one person writes after watching the music video.

“That sent chills down my spine. I am mostly familiar with Michael W. Smith's version of Awesome God by Rich Mullins. Thank you, Phil Wickham, for making this song more awesome. I love this collaboration between the two. To God be the glory!” comments another person.

When it comes to ‘What An Awesome God,’ Phil Wickham and his co-writer Jonathan Smith took the familiar chorus of Rich Mullins' ‘Awesome God’ and built a new song around it. They also honored Rich Mullins and his legacy by releasing ‘What An Awesome God’ on what would have been his 70th birthday.

“It’s hard to even describe what it means to me to share a small part of the legacy of this song,” Phil Wickham said. “What started as a fun idea in the studio grew into an unexpected new take on the ‘Awesome God’ story. It has quickly become one of my favorite songs to sing with the church, proudly declaring each night how awesome our God is! I’m honored to share this song with you all, and I pray that in the midst of your day, it helps you recognize ‘What An Awesome God’ we serve!”’

We hope you enjoyed listening to Phil Wickham and Michael W. Smith perform this wonderful song together today!

Worship Team's Soul-Stirring ‘Come Thou Fount (I Will Sing)’ Rendition

Prepare for a powerful moment of praise from this incredible worship team. They lead with such joy, authenticity, and reverence to our holy God. Check out this video of a worship team’s soul-stirring ‘Come Thou Fount (I Will Sing)’ rendition.

As we watch this beautiful moment of worship, your own heart will be stirred along with the video, and you will be invited to join in with the singing of this timeless hymn. First Baptist Clarksville leads in a stunning rendition of ‘Come Thou Fount (I Will Sing).’ The song starts as the classic song that we all know and love. The verse is sung while the camera zooms in on various band members and choir members leading the church congregation. It is inspiring and encouraging to see a variety of ages all coming together to praise Jesus as Savior.

The chorus is motivating and musically uplifting alongside these powerful lyrics. As the church is singing, it reminds us that the church has been singing this song for generations because the Scriptures tell us that Jesus is our Living Water. He is the blessing, He is our greatest joy in life. I love watching the various musicians play their instruments, each one unique. Whether a person is playing their praise or singing their praise, all that we have been given has been provided to us from our Creator. These individuals come together on the stage in their sanctuary, but the glory is going to God. He is the One who even gave the ability for this song to be crafted. May we join in with the worship to Him wherever we are viewing.

“But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 14:14

Rebecca St. James Joined by Her Daughters for 'You Make Everything Beautiful'

In an inspiring new YouTube video, singer Rebecca St. James is joined by her daughters for ‘You Make Everything Beautiful.’ The song has never sounded better. Watch the clip to hear the encouraging new version of the song.

The song is about how God gives beauty, and the most important kind of beauty is inward.

“My new version of ‘You Make Everything Beautiful’ is coming out… and what makes it even more special? My daughters are singing on it with me!” Rebecca shared. “This project has been such a joy and dream come true.”

Rebecca wrote the song while reflecting on her lifelong struggle with self-image. She came to a point where she realized that she needed to give her image desires over to God and realized that it’s not what’s outside that matters. That’s why she wanted to share the special song with her daughters, in faith that they will take the song’s message to heart.

Rebecca’s original version of the song came out in 2011, several years before her daughters were born. Some of the song’s lyrics are:

‘In my weakness, You can shine
In Your strength, I can fly
And You make everything, everything beautiful
You make everything, everything new’

In the new music video with her two daughters, Rebecca is seen praying with her spouse and daughters before they begin to sing. She embraces each of her kids and later looks on proudly as her daughters sing in the recording room.

“God brings beauty from ashes,” Rebecca said.

“He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.” Ecclesiastes 3 :11
