A song for our children

Lovely night, praising our God. ♥️

While writing the songs for Back to the Cross, I was looking back at times, I had drifted from my love and commitment to my Lord Jesus Christ. Times I was living in compromise, as a lukewarm believer but pretending to be spiritual. That's what the song "Back to the Cross" is about. It's about remembering what it was like confessing my sin and getting right with God. It's about recalling how much time I wasted on foolish things. It's about being forgiven and making a fresh and loving commitment to Jesus Christ.

"My Treasure" is a song about my relationship with the Lord. It's a song of thanks and praise for God's love, forgiveness and restoration. It is a love song to Jesus, because He is "My Treasure". It is a worship song and one I pray many will sing to the Lord of all, Jesus Christ.

I was inspired many years ago by many CCM songs about the return of Jesus Christ. I don't hear as many songs like that nowadays, so here is my contribution. I pray it inspires us all to GET READY and to STAY READY for His return!

The lyrics of the "Back to the Cross" song led to the next song, "Ready or Not." In this song, I remind myself and listeners that Jesus Christ is coming back. He is returning whether we're "Ready or Not." It reminds us that it is our responsibility and our calling to be ready for the return of Jesus.

Philippians 2:10-11 says "that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

This song tells the amazing story of God's love. His amazing love was shown to every person in the world through His sacrifice on the cross. Jesus sacrificed His life, so that those who believe and trust in Him could have eternal life. We pray this song will touch your heart! John 3:16-18.

This song is a prayer. A prayer to God for personal revival and holiness. It is our prayer; and we pray it becomes yours. God loves us and wants to bring us to a place where we can walk in His grace, love, peace and power so that He can dispense His blessings to the world around us. He wants to use us to reach those in need but He firsts comes into our lives and shows us how much He will do if we but surrender to Him. He is the potter and we are the clay. We can trust Him with our lives because He loves us the most! We pray that this song is an inspiration to you!

Most of the words of this song are directly from the Apostles Creed, an ancient statement of faith that reflects the core beliefs of the early Christian church. I first learned this creed as a child; although I didn't understand it completely. It is as true today as the time it was written. Every statement in it is verified by the teachings of Jesus in the gospels. Unfortunately, some post modern churches have abandoned and even shunned these basic tenets of the faith. But I believe every word in this song, and I pray that you do too!

My daughter Megan Weller sang this song with me when we recorded it a few years ago. I felt impressed to end this album with this song. I addressed a lot of serious things in the songs on the "Nail It to the Door" album - things that the Lord has ministered to me about. Like you, I am continuing to grow in my faith and will until I leave this earth. In the meantime, I am going to seek His will for my life and His mercy and grace. I praise God for His mercy! Without it I would be in really bad shape. I would still be lost and trapped in the darkness of sin and addiction. He has forgiven me of so many things and continues to be there for me in everything. God wants you to know that His mercy is there for you because He loves you and cares about you. He wants to be there for you. I pray the following words of Jesus will encourage you today.



“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? Caridad is from a collection of four pieces I was inspired to write very reminiscent of our ministry to the frontier farmers and villagers in Columbia, South America where we lived for six months.

Each evening after the days work the people would bring out their native instruments relax by playing a local game of sorts consisting of a clay mound, pitching pebbles at pieces of paper to knock them off. There would always be a little three piece harpa group with a small handmade harp, an old guitar and a primitive fiddle like instrument.

The songs were so happy and filled the air with mirth mingled in the air with the sweet fragrance of papayas and mangoes as the crimson sun was setting.

All is set, as the guests begin to arrive. You gaze across the lawn,

The courtyard in front of the palace is all arranged, and flowers with white silk ribbons have been hung with great care and elegance. I spy a young fawn, as she meandersthrough the crowd, taking her leisure, and an occasional bit of food from the server's table. You look back at me and laugh with delight.

The estate is magnificent, with its lovely gardens and hedges. The
trees themselves softly sway in the gentle breeze. Two white doves
glide across the yard, to the lustrous altar at the steps of the mansion.

They are carrying a shining banner, to be hung over the main
entryway. It is all so very much like a storybook tale, so colorful and
fair. So many things to take in with my eyes, yet I am constantly
drawn back to You. I apologize blushingly to my friends, who are
assisting me with the last minute details of my dress. I have never
been so happy in my whole life. I am faint at the thought of my
destiny and great fortune; to have the King of Kings and the Lord of
Lords as my Beloved, and I, chosen to be Yours, to be united as one, together throughout all eternity, in your Kingdom forever.
