Chilling Acoustic Rendition of ‘How Great Is Our God’

This chilling acoustic rendition of “How Great Is Our God” will give you goosebumps. It’s a powerful and moving performance of the classic tune beloved by many. Watch the short, awe-inspiring clip to listen to this jaw-dropping performance of “How Great Is Our God,” a song that is near and dear to the hearts of many.

Music is universally beloved. We all share a love of music. Appreciating the beautiful sounds musicians create is one of the few things we can all agree upon in these highly polarized, incredibly divisive times. Seriously, can you name someone who doesn’t enjoy listening to music, at least some form of it?

However, things become dicey when you start talking about specific genres, bands, musicians and songs. Everyone has an opinion on this or that band or on that song. If you’re not careful, things could devolve into a heated argument, much like every other topic and subject today.

Despite that, there are still some songs that are universally loved. Some songs are so powerful and beautifully written that they transcend genres, obtaining likes from fans of all musical genres. If you like music, chances are you enjoy these specific, limited tunes. One of those songs that fits perfectly in that category is Chris Tomlin’s “How Great Is Our God.” You don’t even have to be a fan of Christian contemporary music to appreciate that power and the message of that song.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Stephen McWhirter performs “How Great Is Our God,” and it’s an outstanding cover that you’ll want to return to repeatedly. The powerful and moving lyrics, combined with his distinct, unmistakable voice, are what help to set this cover apart from so many others who have sung and performed “How Great Is Our God.”

Stephen’s rendition of this Chris Tomlin tune is head and shoulders above nearly every other cover you’ll hear of this praise and worship song. It’s that good!

Ephesians 5:19 “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;”

Trio Delivers Moving Rendition of ‘There’s Something About That Name’

Check out this moving rendition from a talented trio of the song ‘There’s Something About That Name.’ The singers in the video are The Martins, a music vocal trio composed of three siblings: Joyce Martin Sanders, Jonathan Martin, and Judy Martin Hess. They have a lovely sound, and the way their voices blend together sounds so heavenly!

‘Jesus, Jesus, Jesus; there's just something about that name.
Master, Savior, Jesus, like the fragrance after the rain;
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, let all Heaven and earth proclaim
Kings and kingdoms will all pass away, but there's something about that name.’

‘There’s Something About That Name’ was written in 1970 by Bill and Gloria Gaither. Gloria says the song came to them out of a personal experience that confirmed the power and effect the name of Jesus had on their everyday lives. There really is something so special about the name of Jesus. No wonder so many songs and hymns have been written about His name!

When it comes to The Martins, their sibling group rose to national and international success during the 1990s, showcasing their stunning and distinctive harmonies before a vast array of audiences. Over the years, the group garnered eight Dove Awards from the Gospel Music Association, as well as a prestigious Grammy nomination.

The siblings decided to take a break in 2003 and pursue individual music careers, but they reunited in 2010 and were stronger than ever. In 2011, they released their first new recording together in 10 years. In 2013, the group returned to the studio to record The Martins A Cappella. This recording earned The Martins a Grammy nomination for Best Roots Gospel Album.
Most recently, The Martins produced their latest recording, Still Standing.

There is nothing like a family singing together, and these siblings use their voices to encourage others and bring God glory. We hope you enjoyed listening to their rendition of ‘There’s Something About That Name.’

Powerful Instrumental Cover of Beloved Hymn ‘He Touched Me’

Listen to this powerful instrumental cover of the beloved hymn ‘He Touched Me.’ This popular hymn was originally written by Bill Gaither. Matthew Holt is the musician performing the hymn on the piano in this video. May this song uplift you today!

‘Shackled by a heavy burden
'Neath a load of guilt and shame
Then the hand of Jesus touched me
And now I am no longer the same’

What a beautiful performance of ‘He Touched Me.’ Matthew Holt has had a full career with his musical talents. In 2004, he joined the award-winning family group The Perrys and played with them until 2008. Then in 2012, Matthew became the full-time keyboard player for the Gaither Vocal Band and the Gaither Homecoming Tour.

Matthew does an incredible job playing ‘He Touched Me,’ and many people online shared their thoughts about his performance.

“One of my favorite church hymns of all time!” one person writes after watching the music video.

“I think I’m up to seven times watching this tonight. It’s just so beautiful!” comments another person online.

When it comes to the history of ‘He Touched Me,’ it was written in 1963 by Bill Gaither. Gospel singer Doug Oldham was the first to record the hymn in 1964, and not long after that, the Bill Gaither Trio recorded it. Then in 1965, The Imperials recorded ‘He Touched Me’ for their album The Happy Sounds of Jake Hess and the Imperials. In 1969, they recorded a newer version for the album Love Is The Thing. This is the version that Elvis Presley heard that made him want to record the song himself.

We hope that you enjoyed listening to this instrumental version of the hymn ‘He Touched Me,’ and may it be an encouragement for you today!

You Listen to My Prayers

Therefore I Tell You, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." - Mark 11:24 I haven't always had faith in God. I used to believe everything in my life was up to me. If I succeeded, I was proud. If I failed- it was all my fault. Though I do not shirk the responsibility to do my best in life in all things, it is a HUGE relief to know I am not all alone. In fact, God is with me every step of the way, lavishing his extravagant grace on me when he sees I need it and at other times allowing me to learn lesson from my mistakes. One of the biggest tests of my faith was when I was facing infertility. The 8 year journey till we finally had our twins Hannah and Caleb was heart-wrenching, but God showed himself to me through that heartbreaking time. -And He left me with the deep conviction that God listens when we pray! "You Listen to My Prayers" is a co-write between Julie Kinscheck and Neal Merrick Blackwood. c. 2023 The single will release on all platforms on June 15th, 2025 on Jharck Records. Not sure of his will? Remember that persistent widow And try again still! CHORUS: You listen to my prayers My Jesus told me so You promise you are there Though sometimes I don’t know But I’ll get back on my knees ‘Cause I choose to believe That you listen to my prayers And you will answer me! VERSE: The widow pressed the judge Till he gave into her plea Hannah prayed and prayed and prayed Till she had Samuel on her knee Oh, Father! In your love Give me bread and not a stone Comfort me, ABBA! So I know I’m not alone! CHORUS: You will listen to my prayers My Jesus told me so You promise you are there Though sometimes I don’t know But I’ll get back on my knees ‘Cause I choose to believe That you listen to my prayers And you will BRIDGE: I walk thorough the valley of the shadow of death I praise you, Lord with my last breath You lay me down in pastures green I find my peace here on my knees Though I walk thorough the valley of the shadow of death I’ll praise you, Lord with my last breath You lay me down in pastures green I find my peace here on my knees I find my peace here on my knees CHORUS: You listen to my prayers My Jesus told me so (you promise, you promise) You promise you are there Though sometimes I don’t know So I’ll get back on my knees ‘Cause I choose to believe That you listen to my prayers And you will answer me! Adonai, you know all my heart (Psalm 139)

No proper recording of the original choral arrangement seems to have survived, but it made a mighty finale to John Steffensen's second musical. Melody and Bible-text re-wording: John Steffensen, using the 1978 Norwegian bokmål translation. Adonai,You know all my heart and fathom me! Where I sit and when I stand, Aware of it My mind seen and mapped out beforehand. Adonai, You know all my heart and fathom me! If I walk or lay me down, discerning it, Preserving my coming and my going. Before the word is on the tongue-tip Hearing it, everything I say! Under, over, covering me You have kept your hand on me. Under, over, covering me You have kept your hand on me. ’Tis far too wonderful for the telling. ’Tis far too high For me ever to understand. Under, over, covering me You have kept your hand on me Where can I flee Far from your presence? Where can I cower from your visage? If I follow the Milky Way, -You are there! You are there! If I follow the Milky Way -You are there! You are there! If my hide-out I make in Hell, —you are there! Though I try the wings of morning on And fly away where sky meets ocean Your Spirit still awaits me there! The hollow of Your hand Encloses me And if I say: “Let darkness cover me,The daylight around me be night!” The dark is as clear as dawn to You! The dark is as clear as dawn to You! The night is as clear as morning, The dark of night, as brightest day. Ransack me God. Discern my thinking. Sift to the heart of my very most soul! Discover where I Cling to roads of wrong, And take me the paths everlasting. The language is deliberately somewhat archaic.

Family Band’s Powerful A Cappella Renditions of ‘I Sing’ and ‘How Great Thou Art’

A family band has turned in powerful a cappella renditions of “I Sing” and “How Great Thou Art.” They all demonstrate they have been incredibly blessed with an immense amount of musical talent and ability. Watch the short but delightful clip of this family band’s lovely and moving performances of “I Sing” and “How Great Thou Art,” songs that are known and beloved by many.

Talents and abilities come in many different shapes, forms and areas. For instance, some people (not me) are gifted with their hands and can build and put together anything without ever looking at a set of directions. They instinctively know how things work and how they should fit together. That ability and know-how have always fascinated me because they are skills and talents I do not possess.

Others have been blessed with the ability to make beautiful music by either playing an instrument or vocalizing lyrics. While many unique and interesting musical instruments exist, we can all agree that one tops all the rest: the human voice. It’s the most versatile, and the only one that can bring listeners to tears.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a family uses their beautiful voices to praise and worship the Lord. The Hudson Harmony Band stays true to its name as they deliver stunning, jaw-dropping and chilling harmonies while performing “I Sing” and “How Great Thou Art.” There isn’t a flat or dropped note throughout the entire clip. It is literal music to the ears, a most enjoyable musical performance.

Their seamless transition from “I Sing” to “How Great Thou Art” is nearly perfect. The arrangement and the way they do it make the two songs sound like one continuous tune (which is the entire point, I guess).

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Soul-Stirring ‘I’d Rather Have Jesus’ Performance

This beautiful performance of “I’d Rather Have Jesus” is soul-stirring and powerful. It is one rendition of the beloved tune you’ll want to return to and listen to repeatedly. Watch this short but moving clip to hear this lovely performance of “I’d Rather Have Jesus,” a tune that is near and dear to the hearts of many.

Most people seek something real, authentic and long-lasting, that has staying power and will stand the test of time. Unfortunately, they aren’t likely to find it in this place. Everything in this world is temporary. Nothing on Earth will last forever; everything has an expiration date.

All the clothes, money and other signs of wealth and riches will fade away. Even our time in this place is limited and will eventually end. But there is one who will and does last forever: Jesus Christ. His love, mercy and grace have no endpoint; they have withstood the test of time. So, anyone who puts their faith, trust and hope in anything or anyone other than in Jesus Christ is nothing more than a fool.

In a clip posted on YouTube, an unbelievably talented group of musicians performs “I’d Rather Have Jesus.” The tune speaks to the temporary nature of what many people strive for and aspire to—money and fame—and how Christ and His love and forgiveness will never fade away. The song’s lyrics are beautifully written and powerful and their meaning is timeless.

“I’d rather have Jesus than silver or gold
I’d rather be His than have riches untold
I’d rather have Jesus than houses or land
I’d rather be led by His nail-pierced hand”

This is such a powerful tune, wonderfully performed, about where our hope, faith and trust should be placed: Jesus Christ. He will never let us down, is forever faithful and is the same today, yesterday and forevermore.

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

‘How Great Thou Art’ Performed Beautifully by The Petersens

Check out this beautiful performance from The Petersens of the song ‘How Great Thou Art.’ Their bluegrass rendition is absolutely wonderful, and the harmonies sound lovely. This talented family band is sure to bring a smile to your face and encourage your soul!

‘Oh Lord, my God, when I, in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed’

The Petersens are a family band that performs full-time in Branson, Missouri. They celebrate American roots music with a focus on family values. The band consists of four siblings —Katie, Ellen, Matt, and Julianne —and their mom, Karen, as well as good friend Emmett Franz.

When filming this music video, the family chose the chapel at College of the Ozarks as the setting. This is where Katie, Ellen, and Matt went to college.

“One of my favorite hymns sung by my favorite vocalist. Well done Petersens,” comments one person on YouTube after watching the music video.

“It's not just the excellent performance, it's the anointing by the Holy Spirit. And I felt it,” writes another person online.

As for the background of ‘How Great Thou Art,’ the hymn started in Sweden in 1886, and it is fascinating to hear how the song made its way to the United States. Author and editor Carl Boberg originally wrote ‘How Great Thou Art’ as a poem. Later, those words were set to a Swedish folk tune. Then, in 1907, Manfred von Glehn translated it into German, and five years later, a Russian pastor named Ivan Prokhanoff created a Russian adaptation.

Then, in the early 1920s, Rev. and Mrs. Stuart Hine left their home in England and went to Poland as missionaries. That’s when they heard the Russian adaptation of ‘How Great Thou Art.’ Reverend Hine decided to write the English lyrics and make his own arrangement of the Swedish melody. After going through many iterations, we have the beloved ‘How Great Thou Art’ hymn that we know today.

We hope you enjoyed listening to this version of ‘How Great Thou Art’ from The Petersens today!

Stunning Acoustic Rendition of Elevation Worship’s ‘Mercy’

Check out this stunning rendition of the song ‘Mercy’ from Elevation Worship. The song is so beautiful and powerful, reminding us that God’s mercies are new every morning. Let the song uplift your soul and leave you encouraged.

‘I’m living proof of what the mercy of God can do
If you knew me then, you’d believe me now
He turned my whole life upside down, He took the old and He made it new
That’s just what the mercy of God can do’

The song ‘Mercy’ was written by Chris Brown, Jason Ingram, and Dante Bowe. It was released on their collaborative album, Old Church Basement, in 2021. In this acoustic rendition of the song, Chris Brown is performing. He is singing in a hallway with his beautiful voice, and his incredible guitar playing perfectly complements it.

“This needs to be released on all streaming platforms! So well done. Contemplative and worshipful,” one person writes on YouTube after watching the music video.

“Listening to this had me in tears. God’s mercy really picked me up when I didn’t think I’d make it. This song is my story in melody,” another person comments online.

When you listen to the lyrics to this song from Elevation Worship, many key points from scripture are highlighted. One would be from 2 Corinthians 5:17, reminding us that we are new creations based on God’s mercy. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” Another scripture that the song calls back to is John 10:10, reminding us that we can find freedom in Christ.

We hope that you enjoyed listening to this acoustic rendition of Elevation Worship’s ‘Mercy’ today! May the song remind you of God’s unending grace and love for us all.
