Russia Launches a Major Aerial Attack on Kyiv Hours Before High-level Talks on Support for Ukraine

Russia has launched one of its largest aerial assaults on Ukraine in months, targeting Kyiv overnight into Monday. Ukrainian officials report two deaths and 15 injuries, including a child. The escalation came hours before the U.K. and Germany led a NATO meeting on military support for Ukraine, including advanced air defense systems like Patriots. Syrian Government Starts Evacuating Bedouin Families from Sweida in Bid to End Weeklong Clashes

The Syrian government has begun evacuating Bedouin families from Sweida after over a week of violent clashes between Druze militias and Bedouin fighters. The fighting, which started with kidnappings and attacks, has killed hundreds and displaced over 128,000 people, according to the U.N. Buses escorted by aid groups have begun relocating families. Conditions for displaced people remain dire, with overcrowding and limited access to food and water. Meanwhile, tensions persist as negotiations continue to bring in aid, end the fighting and bring hostages on both sides home. The clashes have increased skepticism about Syria’s fragile postwar stability.
