Beautiful ‘What a Friend We Have in Jesus’ Cover

Listen to Steven Wood’s "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" cover and be uplifted today! Steven Wood is a singer, songwriter, and music producer with over 30 years of recording and production experience. His cover of this song reminds us of who Jesus is and what he has done for us!

‘What a friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer!’

Steven Wood’s "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" cover reminds us that we were never meant to carry our pain by ourselves. Jesus is always there for us and can bring us true comfort and peace.

“What a Friend We Have in Jesus” Was Written by Joseph Scriven

As for the background of “What A Friend We Have In Jesus,” it was written by Joseph Scriven, a transplanted Irishman in Canada. He was born in Ireland in 1819 and enjoyed wealth, education, a devoted family, and a pleasant life in his native country. After college, he established himself as a teacher, fell in love, and was to be married. But his fiancée ended up drowning, and the only place that Joseph found solace was in Jesus.

Joseph then left for Canada to start a new life and fell in love with a woman named Eliza Rice in Port Hope. But she became sick and also died before Joseph, and she was married. Joseph’s faith was the only thing that brought him through this tragic time. After a lot of time spent in prayer, Joseph took a vow of poverty, sold all of his earthly possessions, and vowed to give his life to the physically handicapped and financially destitute. He became known as “The Good Samaritan of Port Hope.”

Later in his life, when Joseph became ill, a friend visiting him found a poem beside his bed. He asked who had written it, and Joseph responded saying, "The Lord and I did it between us.” And after his death, the poem was put to music by Charles Converse and is the hymn we know and love today.

We hope that you enjoyed listening to this beautiful rendition of “What a Friend We Have In Jesus” today!

There's Still Power in The Blood' Anna Golden Chilling Performance

Listen to Anna Golden’s "There's Still Power in the Blood" and be uplifted by this incredible performance today. The song focuses on the victory found in Jesus and the finished work of the cross. It highlights that the enemy never stood a chance because of the triumphant resurrection.

‘There is power, power
Wonder working power in the blood of the Lamb
There is power, power
Wonder working power in the precious blood of the Lamb’

Anna Golden’s "There's Still Power in the Blood" is a contemporary worship song reimagining the classic hymn "There Is Power in the Blood" to remind believers of the enduring, active power of Jesus' sacrifice. The song blends the traditional hymn with a modern, communal sound, and a new verse and a chorus were added to the updated version.

There is Still Power in the Blood Was Written in 2026

The song was written by Bede Benjamin-Korporaal, Anna Golden, and Jonathan Etienne, and it was released for Easter 2026. The push to write the song was rooted in the desire to return to the foundational message of the cross – to remind worshippers that the blood of Jesus is not just a historical event but holds present-day power to overcome fear and provide salvation.

As for Anna Golden, this talented singer grew up in a musical family and actually got her start touring with Radio Disney. But at 17, she felt a pull towards something deeper and started serving as a worship leader at Faith Church in St. Louis. Anna’s music eventually reached Tasha Cobbs Leonard, and Tasha made her official by signing Anna as the first artist on her label, TeeLee Records.

It is wonderful to see Anna using her gifts to glorify and serve the Lord through music. And her song “There's Still Power In The Blood” has such a beautiful message about the enduring strength and transformative nature of faith, symbolized by the power found in the blood of the Lamb. We hope you were encouraged by this song today!

The Petersens are a family band that performs full-time in Branson, Missouri. They celebrate American roots music with a focus on family values. The band consists of four siblings: Katie, Ellen, Matt, and Julianne, and their mom, Karen, as well as good friend Emmett Franz.

The Chapmans are a family band from Springfield, Missouri, and the brothers helped produce and appear on some of The Petersens' early albums, such as Shenandoah and Finally Going Home. The members from both families are so talented, and they all sound great performing together!

“I hope you had as much fun making that as it was to listen to,” writes another person online.

Derricks, a musician, composer, and poet, was highly regarded as the author of several gospel hymns, and this one in particular has been covered by several prominent artists, including Hank Williams, Alison Krauss, and The Cox Family.

Bill and Gloria Gaither Share How a Simple Lunch Sparked a Lifetime Together

At a special Gaither Nashville Celebration, Bill Gaither and Gloria Gaither take a heartfelt trip down memory lane, sharing the story of how it all began.

From meeting as school teachers in Indiana to a simple lunch that sparked a lifelong partnership, Bill and Gloria reflect on the early days of their relationship, their journey into music, and the God-led moments that shaped their path.

With humor, honesty, and wisdom, they also share encouragement for the next generation about perseverance, calling, and trusting God’s timing even when the road isn’t easy.

This is more than a love story. It’s a testimony of faith, purpose, and a legacy that continues to impact millions around the world.

Remember Ezra Well From Gods Word, In Song, By The Grace Of Jesus Christ:)

Ezra and Nehemiah are often taught together. After reading theses 2 books, I created these songs to try and remember the names of the books better and a little bit of the themes .

Dear God - By Mark R. Spencer

I wrote this song in a style reminiscent of Engelbert Humperdinck and Tom Jones. Their style wasn’t quite mainstream pop or rock at the time, nor was it a Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin Vegas Lounge style. It tracked closer to the later Elvis Presley style. So, that’s how I wrote it.

My Best Friend - By Mark R. Spencer

I saw a video, not long ago, of a dog being pulled from a river. Someone had placed the dog in a 16 gallon sized trash bag, up to it's neck. They duck taped the bag closed around the dog's neck, leaving the poor pup's head exposed. They taped the dog's mouth shut, then threw it in that river. While there was sill air in the bag (The abuser had poked holes in the bag, so the air would escape), the dog managed to wiggle it’s hind end, and move itself to the river’s edge. The bag sank, but the dog was able to reach the bottom with it’s hind legs, and keep it’s head slightly above water, until a good Samaritan spotted the little thing. After rescuing the pup, the good Samaritan adopted the dog, who quickly became his best friend. I hope you like the song.

The Jason Lovins Band Performs “Pilgrim Road” Acoustic | Exclusive Performance

The Jason Lovins Band delivers a powerful, stripped-down performance of the title track from their 2025 album Pilgrim Road in this exclusive acoustic session.

With heartfelt lyrics and rich harmonies, this intimate version highlights the song’s message of faith, perseverance, and the journey we all walk as believers. Known for blending country, gospel, and worship influences, the band brings a raw authenticity to this performance that draws you right into the story behind the music.

Whether you’ve followed Pilgrim Road since its release or are hearing it for the first time, this acoustic take offers a fresh and moving perspective on one of the album’s standout songs.

Let Your Kingdom Come

Here’s a short, friendly description for “Let Your Kingdom (The Lord’s Prayer)”: “Let Your Kingdom (The Lord’s Prayer)” turns the prayer Jesus taught us into a simple, heartfelt worship song. With gentle repetition and a growing sense of hope, it moves from daily needs and forgiveness to a confident declaration of God’s power and glory. It’s not fancy—just a prayer you can sing, asking for His kingdom to come and His will to be done, right here, right now.

By His Wounds

“This song declares the truth of Isaiah 53:5: by His wounds, we are healed. Whether you’re carrying sorrow, fear, or simply longing for restoration, let this song be a gentle space to encounter the One who turns our pain into praise.”

Never Been Loved Like This Before

“I’ve Never Been Loved Like This Before” is a song about being fully seen and fully loved anyway. Leave your jar come and see.

These are the signs of the times

The signs are everywhere. Wars, famines, earthquakes... just like He said. Are you ready?

Lauren Daigle 'You Lead Me' Lyric Video

There are songs that don’t just fill the room—they find you right in the middle of whatever you’re carrying. And Lauren Daigle’s ‘You Lead Me’ lyric video feels exactly like that kind of song. Just days after its lyric video dropped on YouTube—already gathering over 135,000 views—you can’t help but wonder how many quiet, unseen prayers it’s already held in its melody. Because this isn’t just music… it’s ministry wrapped in a voice that feels like it’s walked through fire and still chose faith. And don’t get me started on the breathtaking scenes taken from the show ‘David’ she used for it. It was so refreshing to watch.

Sometimes the sun feels like it keeps me in the dark
Sometimes I find myself on journeys far too hard
I thought You turned Your back on every hurt
'Til I realized that You were going first

Lauren sings like someone who knows what it means to wander through the desert and still believe there’s water ahead. You can hear it—the ache, the surrender, the steady trust—as she carries each lyric like it’s been lived before it was ever sung. And for those of us who have sat in the quiet, not knowing what to pray… this song steps in and gently says, here, borrow these words.

Lauren Daigle "You Lead Me" Lyrics

You lead me
Through deserts no man has walked
Through waters none dare to cross
When I'm afraid of where I'll be

Because she understands something so deeply sacred: sometimes we don’t have the language for our pain, our hope, or even our faith. And that’s where music meets us. It becomes the bridge between what we feel and what we long to say to God.

As Lauren shared so beautifully, “That’s the beauty of songs is that you can put language in the mouth of someone who’s been longing to connect the words to the feeling, who’s been longing to connect the experience to the prayer. And for me, that’s everything. That’s like the highest honor is to be able to give people language to pray to God.”

And maybe that’s why this song feels so breathtaking… and strengthening all at once. It doesn’t rush you. It doesn’t demand anything from you. It simply meets you—right there in the middle of your story—and reminds you that even when you don’t have the words… God still hears your heart.

“He guides me along the right paths for His name’s sake.”  Psalm 23:3

Alexander Pappas on Finding Peace in Jesus and the Heart Behind 'SUNDAY' EP

Worship leader and songwriter Alexander Pappas sits down with Brandon Woolum to talk about his powerful new single “It Is So Sweet” and the heart behind his upcoming EP SUNDAY. In this conversation, Pappas opens up about learning to trust Jesus in the middle of anxiety, why he’s shifted from writing “Monday music” to “Sunday music,” and how these new songs are designed to strengthen faith beyond the walls of the church.

He also shares the deeper meaning behind one of the EP’s most personal tracks, “Always Been Jesus,” and reflects on how life’s challenges have shaped both his faith and songwriting. Plus, Pappas offers encouragement for anyone feeling distant from God and speaks directly to worship leaders navigating difficult seasons.

With a passion for creating music that serves the global Church, Pappas continues to point listeners back to the truth that real peace is found not in perfect circumstances, but in walking closely with Jesus.

Watch the full interview and hear the story behind the songs that aim to help you carry Sunday into every day of the week.
