If Ever I Loved Thee

“If Ever I Loved Thee” is a quiet, deeply personal response to the overwhelming mercy of Christ.

Set against the backdrop of His suffering, death, burial, and resurrection, the song reflects on a simple but piercing truth: Jesus endured what looked like madness to the world—though He was completely innocent—so that we might receive the mercy we could never earn.

He stood silent before His accusers.

He suffered without guilt.

He chose the cross… for us.

And in that moment, what appeared to be defeat became the greatest act of love in human history.

“If Ever I Loved Thee” is not a declaration of perfect devotion, but a humble offering—an acknowledgment that any love we have for Him exists only because He first loved us.

It is a song of surrender.

A song of gratitude.

A song for anyone who has come to realize the depth of His mercy.

🎧 Listen, reflect, and be reminded:

What looked like madness… was mercy all along.

Book of Psalms Back to Songs: Psalm 31 - My Rock, My Fortress

Psalm 31 is characterized by an exhaustion and a sense of "brokenness," as the writer feels like a "forgotten vessel" besieged by enemies and sorrow. It resolves into a state of steadfast courage, finding a hidden refuge in God's presence that remains untouched by the storms of life. The "Book of Psalms: Back to Songs" project is a creative endeavor to restore the original spirit of the #psalms - as songs of worship, lament, praise, and reflection-by transforming them back into musical form, as many were written. Drawing from modern translations of the classic biblical texts, this project reimagines the Psalms with fresh musical arrangements that blend timeless messages with modern sounds. Each Psalm is thoughtfully adapted into lyrical and melodic compositions, many using modern tools, to explore harmonies, instrumentation, and genre-blending arrangements. From soulful acoustic ballads and rock/pop hymns to country pieces and R&B-inspired tunes, the project seeks to make the Psalms accessible and resonate with today’s listeners, while staying true to their emotional and spiritual depth.

We Shout We Sing (Christian Worship Song/Lyric Video) | Krystal Craven

Written with corporate worship in mind, We Shout We Sing is a declaration of who God is and a call for the Church to lift unified praise to Jesus — to listen for His truth, surrender fully, and glorify the Name by which we are saved. “Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.” (Psalm 95:1–2 NIV)

Psalm 35 - From the Lions You Rescue Me

Sung Scripture for prayer, reflection, and worship. This song is for those seeking God’s presence through the Psalms. Psalm 16 is about Confidence in God's Protection and Eternal Life. This is part of a complete project to set all 150 Psalms to music. Every Psalm Set to Music — A Place of Prayer in a Noisy World. Scripture Summary: Psalm 35 is a passionate plea for divine justice from David, spoken in the midst of false accusation, betrayal, and relentless persecution. David calls on the Lord as a warrior and defender, asking God to rise up, fight on his behalf, and personally assure him of salvation. He asks that those who unjustly hunt him be stopped, exposed, and undone by their own schemes. David contrasts his enemies’ cruelty with his own past compassion. Though he once mourned and prayed for them in their suffering, they now repay him with slander, mockery, and violence, rejoicing in his pain and fabricating lies against him. This betrayal deepens the psalm’s emotional weight—David is not only attacked but wounded by ingratitude and injustice. Throughout the psalm, David repeatedly appeals to God’s awareness: “Lord, you have seen this.” He asks God not to remain silent or distant, but to act as righteous judge, vindicating the innocent and silencing malicious joy. The psalm moves from anguish to confidence, affirming that God rescues the poor and powerless from those too strong for them. The psalm concludes with a vow of public praise. David anticipates vindication—not just for his own sake, but so that God’s righteousness is magnified. Those who love justice will rejoice, and David commits to proclaiming the Lord’s praise continually, trusting that God delights in the well-being of His servant. Psalms 35 Of David. 1Contend, Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me. 2Take up shield and armor; arise and come to my aid. 3Brandish spear and javelin against those who pursue me. Say to me, “I am your salvation.” 4May those who seek my life be disgraced and put to shame; may those who plot my ruin be turned back in dismay. 5May they be like chaff before the wind, with the angel of the Lord driving them away; 6may their path be dark and slippery, with the angel of the Lord pursuing them. 7Since they hid their net for me without cause and without cause dug a pit for me, 8may ruin overtake them by surprise— may the net they hid entangle them, may they fall into the pit, to their ruin. 9Then my soul will rejoice in the Lord and delight in his salvation. 10My whole being will exclaim, “Who is like you, Lord? You rescue the poor from those too strong for them, the poor and needy from those who rob them.” 11Ruthless witnesses come forward; they question me on things I know nothing about. 12They repay me evil for good and leave me like one bereaved. 13Yet when they were ill, I put on sackcloth and humbled myself with fasting. When my prayers returned to me unanswered, 14I went about mourning as though for my friend or brother. I bowed my head in grief as though weeping for my mother. 15But when I stumbled, they gathered in glee; assailants gathered against me without my knowledge. They slandered me without ceasing. 16Like the ungodly they maliciously mocked; they gnashed their teeth at me. 17How long, Lord, will you look on? Rescue me from their ravages, my precious life from these lions. 18I will give you thanks in the great assembly; among the throngs I will praise you. 19Do not let those gloat over me who are my enemies without cause; do not let those who hate me without reason maliciously wink the eye. 20They do not speak peaceably, but devise false accusations against those who live quietly in the land. 21They sneer at me and say, “Aha! Aha! With our own eyes we have seen it.” 22 Lord, you have seen this; do not be silent. Do not be far from me, Lord. 23Awake, and rise to my defense! Contend for me, my God and Lord. 24Vindicate me in your righteousness, Lord my God; do not let them gloat over me. 25Do not let them think, “Aha, just what we wanted!” or say, “We have swallowed him up.” 26May all who gloat over my distress be put to shame and confusion; may all who exalt themselves over me be clothed with shame and disgrace. 27May those who delight in my vindication shout for joy and gladness; may they always say, “The Lord be exalted, who delights in the well-being of his servant.” 28My tongue will proclaim your righteousness, your praises all day long. #psalms #motivation #newmusic #peace #christianmusic #kingdavid #healingmusic #psalm35

Christ Above All (Christian Worship Song on Colossians/Lyric Video) | Krystal Craven

As I was getting ready to transition from finishing up devotionally studying through the gospel of Luke to starting a study in the book of Colossians (in the weekly email devotionals with my Music Tribe), I was stirred to write a worshipful song to go with it, based on the truths we find in Colossians. • (Colossians 1:16-17) He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him • (Colossians 1:19-20) For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross. • (Colossians 2:13-14) And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. • (Colossians 3:5a) Put to death therefore what is earthly in you • (Colossians 3:14-15) And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. • (Colossians 2:10) And you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority. • (Colossians 1:23a) if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard • (Colossians 2:6-7) Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith • (Colossians 4:6) Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person • (Colossians 4:2-3) Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ

May Our Marriage (Christian Pop Song Lyric Clip) | Krystal Craven

A joyful prayer for marriage: servant-hearted love, gentle words in conflict, covenant faithfulness, and unity in Christ that points others to God.

May Our Marriage (Christian Pop Song/Music Video) | Krystal Craven

"May Our Marriage" was written as a prayer of gratitude for the gift of marriage and a desire to honor God within it. It originated as a poem I wrote years ago and decided to convert it into a song. This song reflects biblical themes of servant-hearted love, gentleness in conflict, covenant faithfulness, and unity in Christ, pointing to marriage as a living testimony of God’s love to the world, just as the apostle Paul equated marriage relationship to the relationship between Jesus and His Church/Bride.

Amazing Grace & Jesus Loves Me (Hallelujah Praise Chorus) | Krystal Craven

This Hallelujah praise chorus blends well known hymns, Amazing Grace and Jesus Loves Me. The word hallelujah means “God be praised” and is used throughout poems and songs as an expression of worship and rejoicing. When really pondering and meditating on the truths written in these two hymns, of God’s amazing grace and His love for us, it should cause us to overflow and exclaim worship to God…HALLELUJAH!
