So, this has snare drums in it (marching cadence), the way I hear it... like a really powerful song, probably sung by a man. Not sure, but my voice is too soft for it. :-)

#1 of the 40 Songs - I Cry For You Child

In January 2017, God told me to hold my son and that he'd give me a song to write. In February, the song flooded over me and a friend asked me to sing it at a Right to Life Banquet. So, I made this little video. The night I wrote this first song, I got the scripture and idea for the 2nd song. I didn't have a melody or finished lyrics for the second song until May 5, 2017. Once that song came, songs started flowing. By around the 7th song, God impressed upon me that I'd write 20 songs (which meant 21 to me). The day I finished the 21st song, I knew I was going to write 40 songs. God has been so good. On August 7, 2017, I finished the 40th song. Definitely has been a labor of love. I wrote about whatever he was putting on my heart. Sometimes he gave me words or scripture or a melody. At some points, I probably rushed the writing process, but I learned along the way. I didn't even try after the first few songs to make them better than what they were, because they started coming too fast. So, I wrote, sang it out, posted to facebook or YouTube and then moved on to the next song. On some of the songs, the melody changed right in the middle and I just went with it. I tried not to speak my understanding of the songs too much in some of the "commentaries" afterwards, so that they would just be what they are. I definitely did not set out to be a song writer, it just sort of happened. God is good. God is so good and merciful.

INTRO to 1st 21 Songs

Intro to the first 21 songs. After recording and uploading the first twenty one songs, the Lord impressed upon me that I would actually write 40 songs. The first song came in February 2017, the remainder of the songs were written and recorded starting on May 5, 2017. On Monday, August 7, 2017, I finished the 40th Song. I'll upload songs 22 to 40 another time. I basically wrote the songs, sang them out once or twice, recorded them and then moved on to the next one. They are VERY first draft, but VERY much about the Lord. So, God bless you and please enjoy the songs. God is so good.

Struck By Your Beauty

When I think about all that He has done for me. And how He loves me, I am awestruck. Based on Psalm 8 where it says 'When I consider the heavens the works of Your hand...what is man that You are mindful of him?'

Worthy Vessel

Lord, make me a vessel worthy to be used by You. Sort of based on 2 Tim 2 where Paul talks about there being vessels of honour and some to dishonour. My prayer is that I am a vessel that brings honour to His name.

Not My Will

Christ's prayer was that not His will but the Father's will would be done. Even though that meant death on the cross. Our prayer should always be the same. Not our will but His be done.

Psalm 19

The heavens declare the Glory of God and the firmament shows His handiwork. Ps 19:1 My motto is 'The heavens declare the glory of God...shouldn't we?'

You Rescued Me

Only God can rescue us from what beats us down. No matter what we are going through, He is there. He will never leave us nor forsake us.

Song of Creation

All of creation sings the glory of God. Let us join in their song. This goes along with Psalm 19. If we look at creation around us, I don't see how we cannot be awestruck at God's glory.

In the Shadows

When we find ourselves in troubled times, we need to focus on Him and lift our voices even louder than before in praise. 'Yeah though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for You are with me.' Psalm 23

Jimmy White - Miserable Man (Official Music Video)

https://www.jimmywhitemusic.com -
The single is based on Paul’s letter to the Romans, passages between 7:10 - 25,

Where the song comes from:

As with so many people in this world, White has battled depression at several points in his life. In this single, White writes of feeling the depression that the Apostle Paul must have felt in his letter to the Romans, (19) I do not do the good things I want to do, but I do the bad things I do not want to do In verse (24), What a miserable man I am! Who will save me from this body that brings me death?

White does see the hope in verse (25) I thank God for saving me through Jesus Christ our Lord! So in my mind I am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful self I am a slave to the law of sin.

As with the Apostle Paul and so many people today, as well as White, the struggle with depression can be overwhelming and debilitating but there is hope in Jesus Christ our Lord and in God the Father.
